Sustainability
Slow Fashion, Lasting Value
At Ann Chiara's Boutique, sustainability is not a marketing term; it is the foundation of every design choice we make. We believe that producing less, selecting biodegradable materials, and honoring the craftspeople behind our items are the best ways to respect our planet.
Natural & Biodegradable Materials
We construct our garments using 100% natural, biodegradable fibres. Synthetics like polyester and nylon are never used in our primary fabrics.
- European Flax Linen: Sourced from France and Belgium, our linen is grown without irrigation and requires very little pesticide usage compared to conventional cotton.
- Organic Gauze & Cotton: Certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), our cotton is grown using natural farming methods that protect soil health and water supplies.
- Responsible Merino Wool: Our knitwear is crafted from Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified yarn, ensuring high animal welfare and sustainable land management.
- Mulberry Silk: Sourced from organic silk farms, ensuring a clean, pesticide-free lifecycle for the silkworms.
Zero-Waste & Eco-Packaging
We aim to minimize waste at every point. Our production pattern markers are optimized to minimize fabric scraps, and any remaining offcuts are donated or recycled into stationery.
Your orders are wrapped by hand in plastic-free, 100% recycled tissue paper and shipped in post-consumer recycled boxes. We encourage you to compost or recycle our packaging at home.
Ethical Partnerships
Sustainability requires ethical treatment of the hands that make our clothes. We build long-term relationships with small workshops in Portugal, Italy, and India. Every partner pays a living wage, ensures safe working conditions, and operates on a fair-trade basis.
